The Arrowhead Region of MN has been selected has the national kick-off site for the 10th anniversary of Disability Mentoring Day. Hosted by the Youth Business Partnership, the event will connect 1000 high school students with disabilities from throughout Northeastern Minnesota with 100 area employers and businesses. The intent is for students to learn firsthand about career opportunities and expectations and for employers to learn about the wealth of ability among these potential employees. The event will include informative sessions for parents.
The day includes: breakfast for employers, lunch for students and employers, informative breakout sessions, national government and business speakers, and mock interviews. Primarily, we are seeking to establish positive connections and understanding between employers and people with disabilities.
